Normally a speaker is a box with 2 or more drivers mounted on the front baffle. The drivers are usually round with a cone woofer driven by a voice-coil placed in a strong magnetic field and some kind of dome for the higher frequencies.

But there are many different ways to move air and create sound.

I have collected information about all the systems that I know of. Some of them are quite rare, and some absolutely unobtainable. Horns and special box constructions or loadings are only included if the resulting speaker differ considerably from what I consider the "normal" speaker. Normal cones and domes are not included.

Without the help from my friends at the "Basslist" (DIY Speakers) this collection would not have been possible. Thanks to all of you! If any of the used pictures should be protected by copyright please let me know, and I will remove them immediately.
